About The Role The Senior Product Designer will be a vital member of the Emerging Experiences team, a specialized group dedicated to exploring the future of GM’s digital landscape. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the next generation of digital products by translating emerging technologies and evolving customer behaviors into innovative concepts and frameworks for web and mobile platforms. The successful candidate will focus on designing scalable, coherent, and future-proof information architectures, interaction models, and system behaviors that form the foundation for upcoming digital experiences. This position is categorized as remote or hybrid, with the expectation that hybrid employees will report to a GM hub location three times per week or as directed. Remote candidates are encouraged to apply regardless of their location outside a 50-mile radius of GM hubs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 8 years of experience in product, UX, or interaction design for web and/or mobile platforms. Proven experience designing complex digital products with strong systems and information architecture. Ability to transform ambiguous problems into clear UX frameworks and interaction models. Advanced proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma. Strong collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional, distributed teams. Responsibilities Define clear product structures and information architectures that organize complex features, services, and user journeys. Design scalable interaction models that deliver consistent user experiences across web and mobile platforms. Translate emerging ideas and technologies into tangible product frameworks, prototypes, and experience models. Create high-fidelity interface designs that effectively communicate system behaviors across key screens, states, and flows. Identify reusable design patterns and contribute to shared design systems and component libraries to ensure consistency and efficiency. Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers to explore, validate, and refine new concepts and prototypes. Elevate overall design quality through systems thinking, critique sessions, and mentorship within the design team.
