Job Description
About TIG The Islander Group (TIG) is Hawaiʻi’s leading wholesale distribution company serving retailers, foodservice operators, and commercial customers across the Hawaiian Islands and Guam. The Role Build and grow TIG’s proprietary (owned brands/private label) portfolio. Own the development lifecycle—from insight and concept through specs, costing, packaging/labeling, supplier coordination, evaluation, and launch—partnering with Sales, Marketing, Procurement, and Operations. Key Responsibilities Own the owned-brand pipeline from concept validation through launch and optimization. Create product briefs (customer need, attributes, pricing, pack/case configuration, success metrics). Build business cases and manage the roadmap based on margin, landed cost, ROI, and strategic fit. Lead cross-functional launch plans (specs, packaging/labeling, and go-to-market readiness). Own timelines, risks, and key decisions to deliver launches on schedule. Source and manage suppliers/manufacturers balancing quality, lead times, and total landed cost. Maintain product specs and ensure packaging/labeling meets regulatory and documentation requirements. Be the accountable owner for owned-brand initiatives—drive decisions, documentation, and stakeholder updates. Build repeatable tools and templates to scale product development. Lead the Art Department workflow to deliver accurate, compliant packaging/label artwork on time. Qualifications o 3+ years in private label/owned-brand product development, category/brand management, or related CPG/retail/distribution roles. o End-to-end launch leadership: briefs, specs, and cross-functional execution. o Packaging/labeling and artwork workflow experience (including compliance considerations). o Supplier partnership strength (selection, negotiation, performance management). o Business acumen: margin, landed cost drivers, and ROI. o On-site in Mililani/Central Oʻahu (Hawaiʻi ties preferred). Compensation & Benefits o Base salary range: $55,000–$75,000 (depending on experience) + bonus eligibility. o Medical, dental, and vision insurance. o Paid time off and company-observed holidays. o Professional development support.
