This position reports to: Engineering Manager __ The work model for the role is: Onsite, Richmond, VA Your Role And Responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to create and modify the standard designs of equipment, systems, or installations, including standard specifications for manufacturing, fabrication, or construction, using standard design concepts. Each day, you will design engineering solutions, including drawings and calculations according to contract specifications. You will also showcase your expertise by contributing to design reviews and design verification and modifying the design, as necessary. You will be mainly accountable for: Review and Implement engineering changes across products and coordinating the deliverables between cross functional teams; Contribute to design/manufacturing reviews and verification, providing feedback on modifications as needed Ensure the manufacturing line has the support required to meet market demand by monitoring, creating/verifying work instructions, and taking a proactive approach to remove barriers that would impede achieving this goal Lead, correct, and monitor all data related to power protection products using the manufacturing unit’s PLM/ERP systems such a Material Master, manufacturing Bill of Materials (mBOM), Routings and Costing; Establish contacts with suppliers for technical support to improve material quality and/or to decrease costs Work with others cross-functionally to deliver designs in a timely manner with high-quality deliverables that meet customer expectations and project requirements; Work directly with cross functional team to implement, localize, and outsource products and manufacturing opportunities Qualifications For The Role Bachelor degree in electrical/mechanical engineering, preferred Minimum 2 years experience in lean manufacturing, operations or engineering Knowledge of electromechanical design, detail part drawings, assembly drawings and schematics, and design for manufacturing in all the above Experience interpreting and applying electrical safety standards (UL/IEC, etc.), a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, SAP, (PTC Windchill, a plus) Proficient in Excel Data analysis and Reports; Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) Experience in CAD/SolidWorks, a plus Strong multitasking and organizational skills; must be goals oriented, analytic, and methodical Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
