Job Description
About Runner Runner is an autonomous-AI product that operates online stores end-to-end on behalf of independent merchants. Write specs and decision documents that engineers can build from without follow-up meetings. Partner with the AI team to translate new agent capabilities into features merchants actually use. Decide what Runner does not build, and defend those decisions. You can ship a v1 in one week that solves eighty percent of the problem, and you know which eighty percent. A point of view on what good product feels like. You disagree, defend it, and update when you're wrong. Strong candidates may also have An engineering or computer science background, with at least one year shipping production code. Daily, fluent use of agentic coding tools — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or equivalent. You build side projects with them and have opinions about which is best at what. Experience with e-commerce, Shopify, or small-business SaaS, especially selling into independent merchants. Prior founding or first-PM experience at an earlier-stage company. Experience at an AI-first company, or building the AI surface inside a non-AI product.
