PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE Blackbird Farms is seeking a full-time associate to assist with butchery, meatpacking, and other fine food processing work at our workshop in Colonial Beach, VA.About the Job/Requirements Pay and Hours:$20/hr, 50 hours/week, Salaried W2 position, Full Time Assist with:Poultry Processing, fine butchery, packing of pasture-raised poultry Egg washing and packing pasture-raised eggs utilizing both manual labor and machinery Inventory management and cold storage organization Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures on assigned tasks with the ability to work in a group and alone Ability to remain flexible to the day-by-day needs of the business which may include participating in another aspect of the business as needed Physical requirements:Comfortable working in both heat and cold, including working directly in cold storage (0F - 38F) Comfortable being trained on and operating heavy machinery in an occasionally noisy environment Able to lift at least 50+lbs from the floor Working in an environment with and participating in the handling of raw meat and live poultry, sight of blood, viscera, and animal waste, etc.We have a substantial social media presence, so you'll need to be comfortable being filmed performing your job duties Punctuality is extremely important About Blackbird Farms Making nutritious food and agricultural careers available to the masses is our business We operate several farms in Virginia, focused primarily on pasture-raised poultry, with processing and distribution in Oak Grove We feed about 200 families and 20 restaurants, grocers, and schools between Washington, D.C., Richmond, Charlottesville, and Baltimore, and well as the Northern Neck Pay:$20.00 per hour Shift:8 hour shift Day shift Ability to Commute:Colonial Beach, VA 22443 (Required) Ability to Relocate:Colonial Beach, VA 22443:Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location:In person.
