GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the supervision of the Regional Back End Production Manager, the Back-End Production Manager is responsible for leading and managing the back-end production team in efforts to deliver on-time, on budget homes and deliver a world-class customer experience. The BEPM will drive the back-end production team from drywall through post close in a safe and clean environment. This position is a key part of the divisional management team that continually strives to be the builder of first choice for our team members, trade partners, and customers. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Staffing and training Production team, emphasis on back-end Production. Customer Move-In Scores related to Production team. Key Metrics related to cycle time, variance, quality, scheduling, and attention to details pertaining to the build of the home from drywall through completion of the home and warranty after the closing. All required internal meetings. Professional development plans with direct report team members Customer escalations during construction and warranty Quality improvement participation Cost reduction effort participation Quarterly Safety Audit and reporting to ensure safety standards are being met in the field Field audit of accuracy to processes and checklists, including “Double Check” checklist prior to the Welcome Home Celebration Accountable for ensuring the key phase checklists are completed and accurate Trade contractor issues follow-up and held accountable to the phase scopes of work Works to create a team environment between the Front End and Back End production teams Additional projects assigned by Regional Production Manager PREREQUISITES FOR SUCCESS: Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years experience in the homebuilding industry. Technical construction ability to manage construction resources and aid in diagnosing and resolving field problems with strong emphasis in customer communication and customer experience. Strong people skills to manage conflicts articulately and professionally with customers, employees, City Inspectors, and Trades and Vendors. Ability to train trade contractors and team members on construction techniques and field problem resolution. Computer skills to help implement complex systems for scheduling and purchasing. Willingness to work hard and long hours in adverse conditions, including inclement weather. May be required to work weekends. Must submit to personality profiling and random drug testing Must hold a valid driver’s license in the state of Tennessee. Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer.
