Overview Knauss Foods is seeking a proactive, experienced, and detail-oriented Production Plant Manager to lead our Pet Treats manufacturing operations in Reading, PA and foster a culture of operational excellence. Essential Job Functions: Direct all Production Plant operations to meet the production schedule. Direct supervisory role of eight key personnel in Production, QA, Sanitation, and Maintenance departments. Oversee the coaching and developing of production and maintenance personnel. Insure safe operations and control production costs. Willingness to make hands-on contributions to the operations of the Plant when needed. Increase manufacturing capacity by reducing downtime. Ensure all SOPs, GMPs and SQF standards are followed, and the safety and quality of food production are not compromised. Enforce Company policies and procedures. Collaborate with Quality Control, Warehouse, and Sales and Marketing to ensure product quality, timely shipping, adequate inventory of ingredients, and accurate finished product inventory. Conduct inspections of plant and equipment to identify and correct potential safety and health hazards. Perform monthly in-process inventory counts and material, production, labor and yield tracking. Involvement in all in-house and third-party audits. Ensure all daily production paperwork is accurate, and the required data is documented in Production software. Oversee training of all employees Maintain a positive working relationship with all departments throughout the corporation to ensure all aspects of job needs are completed in a comprehensive and safe manner. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred. Ability to multitask and address complex concerns in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in the use of computer technology. Able to work in hot and cold temperatures, and good hand/eye coordination. Able to stand 100% of shift, bend, twist, and overhead lift. Able to lift up to 60 lbs. repetitively and push/pull up to 1000lbs.
