This position is ineligible for employment Visa sponsorship. Overall Purpose The Production Reliability Engineer I supports the stability, performance, and reliability of assigned business platforms. This is an early career level role focused on learning platform operations, production support processes, and reliability best practices while working closely with more senior engineers. Assists with monitoring, incident response, deployments, documentation, and testing activities, gaining hands-on experience in production environments under guidance and direction. Essential Functions Assists in monitoring day-to-day health, performance, and availability of assigned platforms. Supports production, disaster recovery (DR), and customer acceptance testing (CAT) environments under supervision. Responds to incidents, alerts, and service requests according to established procedures and service level agreements (SLAs). Escalates issues appropriately and follows guidance from senior engineers during incident resolution. Assists with code deployments, configuration changes, patching, and certificate renewals in CAT, DR, and Production environments. Participates in user acceptance testing (UAT), functional testing, and regression testing as directed. Follows change management and release processes to ensure safe and reliable deployments. Learns production readiness standards and participates in deployment checklists and reviews. Creates and updates documentation including standard operating procedures, workflow diagrams, and topology diagrams. Ensures documentation remains accurate and current based on system changes. Learns and applies ITIL / ITSM practices related to incident, problem, and change management. Works closely with Production Support Engineers, Product Owners, Engineering, and Delivery teams to understand platform functionality and support needs. Communicates status updates clearly during incidents or deployments under guidance. Participates in team meetings, handoffs, and shift transitions as required. Identifies opportunities for small improvements or automation and shares ideas with the team. Builds technical skills in reliability, monitoring, and troubleshooting through hands-on experience and mentorship. For Telco/Transmissions-focused position: Manage client implementations related to external connectivity needs such as telecom, SSL certs, networking, and transmissions. Create all necessary network connectivity requests such as telco setups, firewall requests, etc. Follow transmission templates for automated file transfers between clients and production systems. Support administration of File Transmission software applications, configuration files and various system components that support the movement and management of file deliveries. Work with all other Early Warning departments to perform ad hoc, or to automate ongoing, file transfers between various production systems. Complies with all security policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of integrity relative to data protection, confidential and sensitive information, and security within the workplace. Minimum Qualifications Telco/Transmissions-focused: Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems with experience supporting users and an ability to relate business needs to system capability OR Education and experience typically obtained through completion of various technology certifications in systems and networking Computer operations experience with knowledge of networking and distributed systems coupled with the ability to apply this toward business operations OR experience with solid technology capabilities and a comfort level with applications and batch jobs.
