Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers company is hiring for Second Shift Production Supervisor. In this role you are responsible for leading all manufacturing operations during the second shift within a chemical-based medical device production environment. This role serves as the primary point of accountability for the facility during off-hours, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient production of medical devices used in patient treatment. The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on leader who can operate autonomously, make sound technical decisions, and guide a team through challenges in real time. This role is 2nd shift 4pm-12:30am M-F What You Will Do Leadership & Team Management Supervise, coach, and develop a team of 10–15 production associates Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement Provide clear direction and decision-making support during shift operations Address personnel issues, performance concerns, and team dynamics as needed Operational Ownership Serve as the on-site leader for all second shift operations Ensure production targets are met while maintaining high standards of safety and quality Quality Assurance Ensure adherence to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and cleanroom standards Ensure all products meet quality specifications and regulatory requirements Partner with Quality teams to address deviations, non-conformances, and investigations Technical Troubleshooting & Decision-Making Provide real-time technical support for production issues and equipment challenges Perform basic troubleshooting and coordinate with maintenance when escalation is needed Make informed decisions to minimize downtime and maintain throughput Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities for process improvements, waste reduction, and efficiency gains Support implementation of lean manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives What You Will Have Technical degree (e.g., Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field) Previous experience in a team lead, supervisor, or similar leadership role in a manufacturing environment Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and lead without direct oversight Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot production equipment Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment What Will Set You Apart Experience in medical device manufacturing Familiarity with cleanroom environments and GMP regulations Experience working in chemical manufacturing or regulated industries Why Join Us This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of plant operations during second shift, lead a high-impact team, and play a critical role in producing life-impacting medical devices. #LS-OS1 Who we are : We are a team of more than 72,000 highly dedicated Healthineers in more than 70 countries.
