3rd Shift Production Supervisor The Production Supervisor leads a team of operators and technicians in a fast‑paced, highly automated packaging facility. This role ensures safe operations, consistent product quality, and reliable production output across high‑speed can‑making or end‑making lines. The supervisor drives daily performance, supports continuous improvement, and fosters a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence. Responsibilities Lead and direct production employees to meet safety, quality, and output targets. Monitor line performance, address bottlenecks, and coordinate with Maintenance and Quality teams to minimize downtime. Ensure proper machine setup, changeovers, and shift startups/shutdowns. Maintain accurate production records, downtime logs, and shift reports. Enforce Ardagh safety policies, including LOTO, PPE, and safe work practices. Conduct safety talks, audits, and incident investigations. Identify hazards and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards. Partner with Quality to address deviations, scrap, and process issues. Support audits, inspections, and adherence to GMP and regulatory requirements. Train, coach, and develop production employees to build skill depth and performance consistency. Provide real‑time feedback, conduct performance discussions, and support employee engagement. Manage attendance, scheduling, and workforce planning for assigned shift. Drive Lean, TPM, and waste‑reduction initiatives to improve throughput and efficiency. Participate in root‑cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Recommend process improvements and support new equipment or line upgrades. Qualifications High school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, ideally in high‑speed or continuous‑run environments. Prior leadership or supervisory experience. Strong understanding of safety practices, quality systems, and production processes. Ability to interpret production data, troubleshoot issues, and make timely decisions. Strong communication, leadership, and team‑building skills. Experience in packaging, beverage, food, or other high‑speed industrial manufacturing . Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or TPM methodologies. Experience working with automated equipment, PLC‑controlled systems, or robotics.
