Description Primary Job Duties : Directs the activities of the department on the assigned shift in order to meet the production schedule. Meets with prior shift supervisors to communicate and manage any issues from the prior shift. The review lists the current production run. Walks the entire make-up floor, recording all pertinent information on the proper sheets. Supervises, trains, and directs production personnel. Addresses any employee issues and reports complaints/concerns to the proper manager (i.e., Plant Manager, Production Superintendent, HR Manager) Monitors employee performance daily by doing frequent walk-throughs of the work area and reviewing related work. Participates in the disciplinary process by issuing corrective actions in accordance with the union contract and other related company policies & procedures and communicating with the appropriate contacts (i.e., Superintendent, HR Manager). Makes adjustments in personnel assignments to cover absenteeism and emergencies. Notes employee absences & lateness on the absence report. Ensures that employees are doing their required work, including, but not limited to: Quality Check sheets, dough schedule recording, taking temperatures of product, housekeeping, and working safely. Fills out a shift report for each day worked. Communicates any major issues to the proper Manager. Safety: Maintains a safe working environment for all employees/contractors/visitors by following safety guidelines and reporting all incidents to management.
