This job, in addition to normal duties of an Athletic Trainer, under general supervision works in a specialized capacity for a professional sports organization requiring additional responsibilities related to professional training camp, combine activities and standard offseason programming set forth by each specific professional sports league. Contents are subject to change at the company’s discretion. Education Required - Bachelor’s degree in athletic training. Preferred - Master’s degree in athletic training or Allied Health. Work Experience Required - 3 years of experience evaluating and assessing patient injury. Preferred - 5 years of experience evaluating and assessing patient injury. Certifications Required - Current athletic trainer license in state of practice. BLS Certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred - BOC Certification For The Athletic Trainer. Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally. Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and team building skills and ability to interact with potential patients, clinic staff, physicians and departments in a professional manner. Ability to prioritize and multi-task with high degree of attention to detail and bring tasks to completion. Job Duties Adheres to standards set forth by the professional sports league and covers all required events in additional to games and practices, not limited to training camps, combines, offseason programming. Prepares age and prognosis appropriate prevention, treatment and rehabilitation under the supervision of the physician. Performs on-field immediate care for injury, recommending physician or therapy follow up. Maintains injury log per contractual agreement and documents per policy and procedure manual. Restocks supplies and maintains inventory in accordance with budgets and administrative direction. Sets up equipment for training camps, practices, gamedays from direction of professional team administration. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
