Professional Development Intern Department EDUCATION Type TEMPORARY Status PART-TIME SUMMARY Image Image attribution California Science Center The Professional Development Intern position is responsible for assisting in the development and facilitation of high-quality, interactive hands-on science education trainings for the California Science Center Foundation (“Foundation”). The intern will collaborate with the professional development team to emphasize best practices in TK-8th grade science education and the implementation of the Next Generation Science Standards across all programming. This is a part-time summer position. QUALIFICATIONS Currently enrolled in a two (2) year or four (4) year college or university. College courses in science and/or education preferred. Effective interpersonal skills (verbally and written) with diverse audiences. Excellent computer skills, including Google and Microsoft suites of programs. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays. MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the preparation and delivery of educator trainings. Organize and prepare materials for use before and after educator trainings. Support in facilitating engaging science experiences for TK-8th grade educators. Assist in daily administrative and operational tasks related to educator trainings.
