Since 1972, Orlando Orthopaedic Center has remained independently owned and has grown to include 24 orthopaedic specialists across multiple subspecialties, many of whom are recognized leaders amongst their peers nationwide.The team at Orlando Orthopaedic Center delivers cost-effective, comprehensive coordinated patient care throughout Central Florida and beyond.We have nine Orlando Orthopaedic Center locations throughout Central Florida, plus a state-of-the-art outpatient surgery center at the heart of our downtown campus located in the trendy SoDo Shopping District just south of downtown Orlando.To provide more immediate care, we have opened several orthopaedic injury walk-in clinics located throughout Orlando and the surrounding communities.JOB Summary::Primarily responsible for assisting the department with all administrative related duties including sending out records review invoices, tabbing/indexing physical records, building charts.Other duties may include processing and disbursing the department's incoming faxes and mail.EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma required Associate degree in communications, business or related field preferred.QUALIFICATIONS AND Experience:Two plus years of work experience in a medical office Knowledge of practice management and electronic health records software Proficient using email and word processing software Ability to perform multiple and diverse tasks simultaneously Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong customer services and telephone skills Ability to perform well in a stressful situation and maintain composure in an open environment Efficient, organized, follow through on commitments Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Professional Services Assistant Duties Index/tab physical records for record review cases Generate invoice for review of records approximately 4 weeks in advance Follow-up on pending payment Assist with building charts Assist with indexing/tabbing physical records for CME appointments when needed Assist with processing and distributing interoffice mail and incoming mail, logging and sending checks to the AR department Assist with uploading expert work diagnostic CD's in Echoes General Administration Assist with processing and distributing faxes Respond to client voicemails and emails within 1-2 business days Log and send charts to transcription or file room Maintain an understanding of the various roles within the department Maintain a detailed knowledge of practice management, electronic health record and other computer software as it relates to job functions Complete all other duties as assigned by Professional Services Manager Maintain patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Typical Physical Demands Position requires extended sitting, some standing, bending, stooping, and stretching.Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment is also required.Employee must have a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.Position requires viewing a computer screen and typing for long periods of time and working in an environment which can be very stressful.Typical Working Conditions Normal office environment Job Type:Full-time Benefits:401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Flexible spending account Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance Schedule:8 hour shift Monday to Friday Application Question(s):What is your expected hourly pay range for this position?
