Professional Tennis Instructor

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Professional Tennis Instructor to join our team starting this Summer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tennis coaching and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for students of all ages and skill levels, as young as 6 years old. You will work with the Director of Racquet Sports to help enhance the member experience of the tennis community at Almaden Swim and Racquet Club. Duties Run junior clinics and maintain a high energy, fun environment. Run your own adult clinics and private lessons. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to the skill levels of individual students or groups. Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their skills and confidence on the court. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary to meet their needs. Maintain equipment and ensure that the courts are safe and ready for use. Skills Experience working with juniors or adults in a coaching or educational capacity is essential. Strong background in sports coaching, particularly in tennis. Ability to manage behavior effectively in a group setting, ensuring all participants feel included and motivated. Ability to plan drills effectively so there is little down time. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate students clearly and effectively. A passion for sports and physical activity, with the ability to inspire others to develop their skills. Requirements Ability to work with kids aged 6-14 Some tennis knowledge and playing experience (the higher the better) Character referrals for past or current coaching positions (not required but helpful) CPR/First Aid Certification (Can acquire after hire) USPTA/PTR Certification (Can acquire after hire) You could potentially be looking at a full time position if you can fill out your day and network with our 300 members. You will start with 5 hours per day in the Summer. The schedule is 9:00 am-12:00 pm, and then 4:00 pm-6:00 pm. This position will be entirely what you make it!
