Job Description
Job Responsibilities The South Carolina Department of Corrections offers a unique internship program for college students in the midlands and all across the state. Our internships are an opportunity for students to experience state institutions all while gaining knowledge from top professionals in their industries. Through our program students will be able to grow and build skills with hands on involvement in their desired field. This opportunity is unlike most internships because students are encouraged to take part in projects as well as the day to day operations of their divisions. The internship program at SCDC is full of endless opportunities for students to grow in a unique and positive environment. Internship program will be a minimum of 8 weeks with a maximum of 28 hours per week. Interns must have frequent reviews with their direct supervisor. This position will work in Inmate Records Office. Must be a legal U.S. citizen. Must be a current college student enrolled in an associate's or bachelor's program. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable mode of transportation. Must be able to pass a drug test upon processing date. Preferred Qualifications A current college student enrolled in the following Associates or Bachelors Program: Business Administration, Business Management, Human Resources Management, Finance, Accounting, or Criminal Justice.
