Job Description
Description The Progressive Die Operator is responsible for running progressive dies in stamping facility. We are seeking a skilled operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced manufacturing facility for 1st and 2nd shifts. The ideal candidates will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machinery and tools, ensuring the production process runs smoothly and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of tooling, programming, and the ability to work with machines and tools. Responsibilities include Set up and load die into mechanical presses ranging from 75 tons to 500 ton, hand feed to progressive Wears all required safety equipment and ensures area and environment if safe Operates monitors and helps maintain machine/equipment (press, welders, cranes, forklifts, etc.) Feeds equipment and tooling Performs or assists in die changes Move parts and products to appropriate positions Perform daily operational checks to ensure safety Perform quality checks and verify quality (first, middle, and last off’s, PQI books, SPC etc.) Assist quality and maintenance personnel with issues related to production Conduct daily cleaning of work area Repair product as required Identify and document problems, set goals, tracks progress and works with teams to implement solutions Report issues and concerns to Team Leader or Supervisor Basic understanding of Quality Management Systems and Environmental Management System standards Watch for potential concerns or issues Train other operators and document in matrix Be self-directed and encourage continuous improvement through involvement and input Meet production efficiencies and maintain quality checks Tag and move parts, containers, and totes Process coil paperwork as required Maintain a clean and safe work environment Maintain focus and attention on press at all times while in operation Remove scrap from press area and place in proper locations Ability to drive a forklift or ability to learn how to drive a forklift Band and shrink wrap materials Maintain an accurate count of parts produced Support the tool & die maintenance team, other die setters, press operators, and other production personnel whenever quality or production problems occur Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor Requirements High School Diploma or GED 1+ year experience loading metal stamping tools into presses is required Precision measuring tools: micrometers, calipers, height gage, etc. to inspect/measure/visually check parts to ensure they conform to specifications Math skills required for set-up and die adjustment Blueprint reading experience desired but not required Experience operating a forklift Ability to work independently and in a fast paced environment Ability to read and follow written work instructions and safety guidelines Maintain a good attendance record Must have good communication skills Ability to lift/push/pull weight from 10 - 50 lbs. Ability to stand/walk/move for up to 10 hours Repetitive Motion Ability to use hand/power tools (i.e. hammer, electric drill) Ability to work in dusty and dirty conditions
