Job Description
Project Controls Specialist We are seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support large-scale industrial and capital projects through cost analysis, forecasting, scheduling support, and process improvement initiatives. This role will work closely with project managers, finance teams, and field personnel to provide accurate project reporting and help drive overall project performance. The ideal candidate will have experience in project controls functions including cost tracking, forecasting, and scheduling, along with strong analytical skills and the ability to improve and streamline project controls processes and reporting. **Please note this position will require 50%+ travel to project sites. Key Responsibilities Support project controls activities for capital and industrial projects, including cost management, forecasting, and progress reporting Maintain and analyze project budgets, commitments, actual costs, and forecasts Assist project teams with monthly forecasting and variance analysis Develop and maintain project controls reports, dashboards, and metrics Support scheduling activities using Primavera P6, including schedule updates, progress tracking, and coordination with project teams Identify project risks, cost impacts, and schedule concerns, and communicate findings to leadership Assist with change management tracking and reporting Work cross-functionally with operations, finance, procurement, and project management teams Help enhance and improve existing project controls processes, tools, and reporting methodologies Ensure data accuracy and consistency across project controls systems and reports Qualifications 5+ years of experience in project controls, cost analysis, project accounting, or related project support functions Experience with cost tracking, forecasting, and project reporting required Working knowledge of Primavera P6 scheduling software preferred Experience with Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP/project management systems strongly preferred Strong Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting capabilities Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment Experience supporting industrial, construction, manufacturing, or capital projects is a plus Preferred Characteristics Process improvement mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions Strong attention to detail and accuracy Self-motivated and proactive approach to problem solving Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
