Internal Project Manager VI – Internal Cyber Programs Key Details Job Title: Internal Project Manager VI Work Arrangement: Open to 100% remote within the USA (Preference is a candidate local to Frisco, TX or Houston, TX and willing to work a hybrid arrangement.) Employment Type: Contract (6 months) Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week Department: Cyber / IT Infrastructure Eligibility: W2 only; not open to h1b or C2C/1099 contractors Role Summary The Internal Project Manager VI provides strategic leadership and execution oversight for large-scale internal cyber programs . This role is accountable for end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-workstream initiatives, ensuring outcomes meet defined scope, schedule, budget, quality, governance, risk, and compliance expectations. The role operates as a recognized authority in program management and cybersecurity delivery, driving initiatives that support long-term enterprise objectives. Core Responsibilities Program & Project Leadership Lead internal cyber programs to successful delivery across scope, timeline, budget, and quality objectives. Own end-to-end execution of internal cyber program workstreams, from planning through remediation and closure. Champion large, enterprise-critical initiatives impacting multiple disciplines and business units. Serve as a trusted advisor and spokesperson for specialized internal cyber programs and initiatives. Governance, Risk & Execution Management Establish and maintain disciplined program governance, including integrated plans, milestones, dependencies, and RAID logs. Drive weekly execution cadence, issue resolution, and leadership-level status reporting. Proactively identify risks and issues, escalate appropriately, and present clear mitigation strategies. Ensure audit readiness, evidence coordination, and remediation validation across internal cyber initiatives. Cross-Functional & Vendor Coordination Coordinate delivery efforts across Cybersecurity, IT, Network Security, internal teams, and third-party vendors. Manage corporate and vendor resources to plan, build, and implement solutions addressing internal risks and control gaps. Oversee lab assessments, platform integrations, and security tool implementations. Strategic & Technical Influence Provide innovative solutions to complex and highly sensitive cyber challenges. Integrate advanced technologies, frameworks, and methodologies with sustained enterprise-wide impact. Translate technical execution details into clear, executive-ready communication for non-technical stakeholders. Qualifications Education & Certification Bachelor’s degree required PMP certification required Experience Minimum of 15 years of experience in project management or related roles At least 8+ years leading enterprise-scale, multi-workstream programs Proven experience delivering complex initiatives within matrixed IT or infrastructure environments Program & Leadership Skills Advanced expertise in project and program management methodologies Strong dependency, risk, and stakeholder management capabilities Deep understanding of critical business success factors and operational processes Ability to influence outcomes across organizations without direct authority Technical Skills (Internal Cyber Programs) Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) operating models Control framework development and enterprise rollout Risk register management and risk framework alignment Compliance and certification initiatives (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2) Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) strategy and execution Security platform and tool implementation management Security assessment rollout, tracking, and reporting Remediation coordination and progress tracking Working knowledge of network and firewall security concepts Managing dependencies with IT, networking, labs, and external vendors Audit readiness, evidence collection, and remediation validation Ability to explain technical gaps and risks to non-technical audiences Delivery Environment Experience working in complex, matrixed IT infrastructure organizations
