About Us NYCD Group, Inc. is a boutique, MWBE-certified permit expediting and regulatory consulting firm based in New York City. We specialize in NYC Department of Buildings filings, multi-agency regulatory compliance, and municipal permitting across the five boroughs and Long Island. Our clients include Tier 1 architecture firms, NYC agencies, and commercial developers who rely on us for precision, responsiveness, and deep regulatory expertise. The Role We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead permitting and compliance projects from initiation through closeout. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for client communication, regulatory oversight, and managing a team of Permit Expediters and Project Coordinators. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of NYC DOB processes, thrives in a fast-paced boutique environment, and takes ownership of outcomes. Key Responsibilities Lead permitting and compliance projects end-to-end, ensuring milestones and client deliverables are met on time Conduct regulatory research and due diligence covering zoning, building codes, and multi-agency requirements Review project documentation and filings for accuracy and full regulatory compliance Serve as the primary client contact — providing timely updates, managing expectations, and maintaining strong relationships Coordinate schedules for plan exam meetings, DOB inspections, and agency approvals Oversee and hold accountable a team of Project Coordinators and Permit Expediters Cultivate productive working relationships with DOB staff and agency representatives to support efficient approvals Track and report project milestones, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership What We're Looking For 5+ years of experience in NYC permit expediting, regulatory consulting, or a related field Hands-on proficiency with DOB NOW (Build, Safety, and Licensing portals) NYC DOB Class 2 Expeditor License strongly preferred Solid working knowledge of the NYC Building Code, Zoning Resolution, and multi-agency filing requirements (FDNY, DEP, LPC, BSA) Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client-first mindset Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff Comfortable operating independently in a boutique firm environment You'll Be Evaluated On Timeliness of approvals and achievement of project milestones Accuracy and completeness of filings under your oversight Client satisfaction and retention Effective coordination of internal staff and external stakeholders Why NYCD Group Work with a respected, women- and minority-owned firm with 25+ years of industry presence Engage on high-profile projects spanning NYC agencies, institutional clients, and major development firms Hybrid flexibility with a collaborative, expert team Opportunity to grow with a firm on an active expansion trajectory NYCD Group, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and MWBE-certified firm.
