Project manager – engineering & industrial capital projects (direct placement) 📍 Minneapolis, MN (on-site / client site travel required) 💰 Competitive salary ($101.000,00 to $180.000,00/year) + full benefits package 🧾 Direct placement opportunity This is a direct hire opportunity for an experienced engineering project manager ready to take ownership of complex, high-impact industrial capital projects. You will lead small to mid-scale retrofit projects from initiation through closeout, working across multiple engineering disciplines and acting as the single point of accountability for project delivery, performance, and client satisfaction. Why this opportunity stands out Direct placement with long-term stability This is a permanent, full-time role with a strong compensation and benefits package Lead meaningful industrial projects Work on retrofit capital projects supporting industries such as refining, chemicals, hydrocarbons, pulp & paper, and high-tech manufacturing True project ownership You will lead projects end-to-end, managing scope, schedule, cost, risk, and execution strategy High visibility leadership role Work directly with clients and internal engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery Career growth in engineering management Opportunity to expand into larger, more complex capital programs and strengthen your leadership trajectory What you’ll be doing Lead multi-discipline engineering teams through all project phases (initiation to closeout) Develop and manage execution plans, schedules, budgets, and project scope Define work breakdown structures and coordinate engineering resources Serve as primary client interface and manage expectations Identify and manage risks, changes, and critical path activities Ensure contractual, technical, and quality requirements are met Monitor progress, cost, and performance metrics across all project phases Drive issue resolution and maintain project momentum Oversee engineering, procurement, and construction coordination Deliver successful project closeout, documentation, and lessons learned What we’re looking for • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical or chemical preferred) • 10+ years of engineering experience in industries such as refining, chemicals, hydrocarbons, pulp & paper, or high-tech manufacturing • Minimum 5 years of experience managing capital projects • Strong experience with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and client-facing projects • Consulting engineering experience strongly preferred PMP certification and PE license are a plus What makes you successful in this role You are a leader who thrives in complex technical environments and takes full ownership of outcomes.
