Our rapidly growing company seeks an eager and hard-working professional to join our team as a Building Automation Systems (BAS)/Controls Project Manager . This exciting career opportunity will provide operational and administrative support across the Construction Operations Department. The Project Manager operates both independently and in concert with all Operations team members. Typical general responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, project scheduling, ordering/managing all material, workforce scheduling, managing all project documentation/deliverables, engineering/programming support, commissioning/testing support, internal/external stakeholder communication, and general office work. Projects include ground-up construction, installation only, and controls retrofits. The Project Manager reports directly to the Operations Manager and will be an active participant in the development and implementation of Operations Excellence. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Manager is responsible for the entire life cycle of a project from the moment it is assigned to them, until the moment it is handed off to our Service Department. Manage day-to-day operation of multiple Building Automation projects from planning to close-out. Coordinates project in accordance with contract documents and approved sales estimate. Serve as primary company point of contact to all external customers/stakeholders on projects including mechanical contractors, general contractors, and other. Leads the coordination of internal Operations teams that install, engineer, test, commission, and closeout BAS projects. Conduct routine progress meetings with internal project team members to discuss project updates, concerns, and resolution of issues. Manages resources by planning, scheduling, and forecasting manpower requirements. Balance time between the office and multiple job sites as needed and attend meetings from project inception to completion. Create and update project scheduling (project timelines) in approved company software. Determine necessary resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) and properly track progress from start to finish ensuring project completion. Responsible for the development of project plans, communication, risk mitigation, and change management plans. Manages all document control logs for projects, including RFI log, meeting minutes, punch lists, transmittal log, submittal log, change order log and issues log. Manage purchasing equipment and material deliveries, while coordinating with external customers, our warehouse personnel, and our field personnel. Manage delivery of required materials and equipment to job sites while tracking inventory for the project. Follow up and review installation and technicians’ work to ensure quality meets established standards, techniques, and safety requirements. Make recommendations as requirements to improve quality and productivity. Responsible for installation and technician personnel performance appraisals, reviews, and for setting improvement goals per company requirements. Accountable for financial management on all assigned projects. Actively participate in business development and identifying opportunities on ongoing projects. Analyze current processes, personnel, and materials to identify methods for reducing costs and improving efficiency on projects. Participate in final job site walk through and ensure all aspects of the project are completed. Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues immediately.
