What we are hiring for: New Land Property Management, LLP is hiring a Staff Accountant . The Staff Accountant will support the full accounting cycle across our mixed-use residential and commercial portfolio, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely close processes, and compliance with company policies and GAAP standards. The Staff Accountant serves as a key member of the accounting team, contributing to financial accuracy, long-range planning support, and ongoing problem-solving. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 1–3 years of accounting experience; property management or real estate preferred Solid Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas) Working knowledge of GAAP Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills Experience in property accounting software (Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, or similar) is a plus Job duties include, but are not limited to: Prepare and post monthly journal entries, accruals, and adjust entries for assigned residential and commercial properties Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor invoices, tenant billing, and lease charge-backs Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for property owners and internal leadership Assist with CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and commercial tenant billing calculations Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with Property Managers Support internal and external audit requests by providing documentation and analysis Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP standards, and applicable regulatory requirements Respond to inquiries from Property Managers, owners, and vendors regarding financial transactions and reporting Perform other duties as assigned
