About Pineview Care Pineview Care is a trusted Maine-based homecare agency committed to providing exceptional, person-centered support that empowers individuals to live safely and comfortably in their homes.We believe quality care begins with caregivers who are trained, supported, and valued.Our mission is simple -- to deliver compassionate, personalized care that improves quality of life while fostering independence, dignity, and connection.At Pineview Care, you're not just an employee -- you're part of a family dedicated to making a real difference.Position Title:PSS/PCA - Caregiver Employment Type:Full-Time or Part-TimeLocation:Various locations across MaineReports To:Care Coordinator / Supervisor Position Summary The PSS/PCA Caregiver provides non-medical, hands-on assistance to individuals in their homes, helping them maintain independence and dignity.This role is vital to ensuring that clients receive high-quality, compassionate care in alignment with Pineview Care's mission and MaineCare program standards.You will support clients with daily living activities, personal care, companionship, and essential household tasks -- while forming meaningful connections that truly impact their lives.Primary Responsibilities:Personal Care & Daily Living Support Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.Support clients with transfers, positioning, and safe ambulation, ensuring comfort and injury prevention.Provide meal preparation and feeding assistance, following dietary needs or restrictions.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe home environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishes, and tidying.Companionship & Emotional Support Engage clients in conversation, activities, and community involvement to reduce isolation.Build positive, trusting relationships that promote emotional well-being and social connection.Provide companionship during daily routines and appointments.Health & Safety Observe and document any changes in client condition, mood, or behavior.Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding concerns or incidents.Follow individualized care plans and maintain accurate time logs and documentation.Ensure compliance with Pineview Care policies, state regulations, and privacy standards (HIPAA).Teamwork & Professionalism Work collaboratively with supervisors, nurses, and administrative staff.Attend scheduled training sessions, meetings, and continuing education opportunities.Represent Pineview Care with professionalism, respect, and integrity in all client interactions.Qualifications & RequirementsEducation & Credentials Must hold a valid PSS certification or PCA training recognized by the State of Maine (or be willing to obtain training through Pineview Care).High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Current CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).Experience Previous caregiving experience (paid or unpaid) in homecare, assisted living, or personal care settings preferred.Experience supporting seniors, individuals with disabilities, or chronic health conditions is a plus.Skills & Competencies Compassionate, patient, and dependable.Ability to follow care plans and communicate effectively with staff and clients.Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to client homes.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with mobility or transfers as needed.Compensation & Benefits Competitive Pay:$18 - $23 per hour (based on experience and training) Flexible Schedules:Full-time, part-time, and weekend options available Training & Support:Ongoing paid training and development opportunities Mileage Reimbursement:For travel between clients Recognition Programs:For outstanding performance and client satisfaction Career Growth:Advancement opportunities within Pineview Care's homecare and administrative teams Why Work With Pineview Care?
