Agency: People USA - Ulster County Crisis Support Center Job Position: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Full-time and Per-Diem Available Location: Kingston, NY Salary/Payrate: $81.70 per hour/exempt Work Schedule : Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 7 am to 7pm Job Summary: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will work in collaboration with the team at the Ulster County Crisis Support Center to provide urgent response and/or treatment services to guests experiencing an acute mental health and/or substance use crisis. The NP will provide voluntary crisis treatment services with an emphasis on peer and recovery support in a safe and therapeutic environment by providing stabilization and referral services 24/7/365. Job Responsibilities & Duties: Provide Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluation and Plan to determine diagnostic impressions and help guide the next steps in treatment. Utilize contributions of the mental health professionals and staff at the Crisis Support Center to support treatment planning; Participates in the intake and screening process of guests; Provide psychosocial assessment and appropriate care to meet needs of individual Behavioral Interventions and medication management and training to address mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders Management of mild to moderate substance withdrawal and intoxication Assess for Medication Addiction Treatment (MAT) to treat physical and psychological symptoms of substance use Provide medication therapy to assess the effectiveness of the guests existing medication regimen by reviewing the guest's medication record and consulting with the individual Works to ensure continuity of service; Provides referral information to providers and/or alternate placement facilities; Reviews intake and treatment plans and signs the record as required by regulations; Participates in in-service training of professionals and nonprofessionals; Act as a resource person for other staff in addressing the complex needs of guests; REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: Thorough professional knowledge of the practice of psychiatry; Ability to work with individuals of all ages throughout the lifespan Good knowledge of current psychiatric treatments and trends; Ability to supervise and instruct staff members; Ability to develop good community relations; Ability to write clear and concise reports; Ability to develop and maintain collaborative and supportive working relationships with all members of the clinical and clerical staff; Inform Director of relevant clinical and administrative issues; Actively support program goals and system improvements/changes; Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating guest condition and making decisions on an appropriate course of treatment; Ability to relate empathetically to guests; Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. Job Experience and Education : Licensed as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) by the New York State Department of Education. Must be board certified. Currently credentialed with Medicare and Medicaid preferred. Reports to SIte Director- Ulster County Crisis Support Center
