Job Description
Job Overview Culver Forensic Consulting is seeking to fill an opening for a Post-Doctoral Psychology Resident. Under the direct supervision of Dr. Keegan Culver, the position entails conducting criminal forensic evaluations (Competence to Proceed, Sanity, Commitment/Conditional Release) and law enforcement evaluations (Pre-Employment, Fitness-for-Duty). Criminal evaluations are conducted off-site in local jails. Police evaluations are conducted in-office. The position is evaluation-based and does not involve provision of treatment/therapy. This is a year-long, full-time position. The position offers an option to hire after licensure. The yearly salary is $50,000. The start date is flexible. Our office is located in the historic downtown area of Fort Myers, Florida. We are walking distance from popular bars and restaurants, as well as the Lee County Courthouse. Educational Requirements The candidate must have completed an APA accredited doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.). Doctorates in Neuropsychology or Forensic Psychology will also be considered. The candidate must have completed an APA accredited internship prior to the beginning of the post-doctoral residence. Prior forensic evaluation experience is helpful but not required. Other Requirements The candidate must pass a criminal background check. Skills The candidate must have well-developed report writing skills. Prospective candidates will be asked to produce writing samples as part of their application process. The candidate must have training and experience in psychological testing and clinical interviewing. Candidates must also be familiar with how serious mental illness presents; the ideal candidate will have some experience in an inpatient psychiatric hospital setting.
