LONG BEACH CITY COLLEGE ABOUT THE POSITION: The teaching assignment may be at the Liberal Arts campus, the Trade Tech & Community Learning Campus or other college teaching locations. The assignment may be day, evening, weekend, online or off campus and is subject to change as needed. Part-time faculty positions are as needed positions and do not accrue rights to tenure. Part-time faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. Duties REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: The College seeks candidates who exhibit an understanding and commitment to the community college mission, and who have a passion for commitment to student success. Demonstrated experience and commitment to integrating new technologies into the learning process, including but not limited to interactive technologies for on campus and on-line courses. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration OR Bachelor’s in business with accounting emphasis or business administration with accounting emphasis or economics with an accounting emphasis AND Master’s in business, business administration, business education, economics, taxation, finance OR the equivalent. (NOTE: A bachelor’s degree in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration, with a CPA license is an alternative qualification for this discipline.) AND , Evidence of a sensitivity, understanding, and ability to manage the classroom environment AND effectively provide instruction to community college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds. LOCAL Equivalency: Possession of a Master’s Degree in Accounting OR a business-related field such as Business, Business Administration, Management, Economics, Finance or Marketing, to include 18 units of graduate or upper division work in Accounting courses (including the degree required lower-division courses of Financial and Managerial accounting) or Accounting related courses in the fields of Finance, Taxation and Economic Analysis.
