The general duties of the staff officers include general patrol of the campus, building security (locking and unlocking facilities on a set schedule), regulating access to the campus through the front gates, directing traffic, and parking cars for special events. The public safety department provides 24/7 coverage, which often requires working holidays, and varied shifts. The successful applicant should possess basic knowledge of public safety and security standards and regulations, as well as demonstrate strong qualities that will represent the five-fold mission of the College through Academic, Vocational, Christian, Cultural, and Patriotic Missions. Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Basic Law Enforcement certification is preferred but not required. This is a full time (year-round) position and includes benefits such as paid medical insurance, retirement (403b), and vacation/sick paid time off. The successful applicant must pass a background check, FIT for Duty test, and Psych Eval.
