Purchasing Coordinator (Construction) Evolution General Contracting Suffolk County, Long Island, NY Full-Time Hybrid & Flexible Schedule About Evolution General Contracting Evolution General Contracting is a women-owned, rapidly growing construction company specializing in residential renovations.We manage a high volume of active projects and are scaling quickly.To support that growth, we're building smarter systems and this role is a key part of that foundation.About the Role We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Coordinator to own the purchasing function for the company.This is a stand-alone role, you will be the point person for all material procurement, vendor coordination, and purchasing systems.This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-paced, high-volume construction environment, is extremely detail-oriented, and enjoys building structure where it may not fully exist yet.Key Responsibilities Independently manage purchasing for multiple active construction projects Source, order, and track materials, finishes, fixtures, and equipment Obtain pricing, negotiate with vendors, and control material costs Track lead times and coordinate on-time deliveries to job sites Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and leadership Resolve delivery issues, shortages, backorders, and damaged materials Maintain accurate purchase orders, invoices, and vendor documentation Build and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships Support job costing, budgeting, and cost tracking Create and improve purchasing processes as the company scales Required Qualifications 5years of purchasing/procurement experience Construction industry experience required Proven ability to manage purchasing independently Strong understanding of construction materials, vendors, and lead times Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail Comfortable handling high volume and fast turnaround Strong communication and follow-up skills Proficient with spreadsheets, email, and project management tools Experience supporting growing or scaling companies is a plus Work Environment & Schedule Hybrid position (in-office remote) Flexible schedule for the right candidate Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment High accountability, high trust role Why Join Evolution Be the sole owner of purchasing, your role truly matters Join a company that is growing and scaling quickly Opportunity to build systems and processes from the ground up Direct access to leadership and decision-making Competitive compensation based on experience Compensation $65,000 - $80,000 annually, based on experience How to Apply Apply through Indeed with your resume.Candidates with strong construction purchasing backgrounds will be prioritized.Pay:$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year Benefits:Dental insurance Flexible schedule Health insurance Paid time off Work Location:Hybrid remote in Northport, NY 11768.
