Purpose of Position: Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable produce. Del Monte Foods has a powerful portfolio of brands, including the iconic Del Monte®, Contadina® and S&W®. We are currently seeking Seasonal QA Helpers. The Seasonal QA Helper supports the Quality Assurance department by assisting with laboratory preparation, product testing, sanitation verification, and documentation activities during the production season. This role plays a key part in ensuring product quality, food safety compliance, and accurate data collection across plant operations. This position works closely with QA leadership, production teams, and sanitation personnel to maintain compliance with company, regulatory, and customer requirements. Responsibilities include lab setup, sample preparation and testing, record auditing, and sanitation inspections. Work activities vary across pre-pack, production, and post-pack periods, supporting the full lifecycle of seasonal operations. Work schedules during the season can be demanding and may include shifts of up to 12 hours per day, up to 6 days per week. Overtime is available after 40 hours worked in a week. Start dates, end dates, and schedules may vary depending on operational requirements and crop conditions. Accountabilities: Laboratory Preparation & Setup (Pre-Season) Prepare laboratory equipment for production startup, including meters, probes, and testing instruments. Verify accuracy and functionality of lab equipment following off-season storage. Perform calibration, troubleshooting, and setup of testing devices. Identify and communicate lab supply and chemical needs to QA leadership. Support overall readiness of QA labs to ensure smooth startup of production activities. Product Testing & Analysis (In-Season) Conduct required product testing including drained weight, hold sample analysis, and other quality checks. Prepare and handle product samples for testing, storage, and shipment. Maintain accuracy and consistency in testing procedures and results. Prepare reagents and testing materials as required. Support additional sampling and analysis requests for special testing or product validation activities. Sanitation & Quality Verification Perform daily sanitation inspections across production areas. Verify cleanliness and readiness of equipment and production environments. Identify and communicate sanitationconcerns or deviations. Support compliance with GMPs, food safety standards, and plant sanitation procedures. Partner with QA and Operations teams to address sanitation and quality issues. Documentation & Record Management Maintain and organize production records, lab documentation, and testing logs. Support record auditing activities to ensure accuracy and completeness. Assist with data entry and tracking of quality metrics. Prepare documentation for sample shipments and internal use. Ensure all documentation meets company, regulatory, and audit requirements. Operational Support Provide support for QA-related activities across departments as needed. Assist with day-off relief for QA record auditing functions. Support commissioning activities, product trials, or special projects. Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready lab and work environment. Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant quality objectives. Work in high heat environments and around pressurized systems.
