We’re hiring a Food Safety & Quality Manager who will own food safety end‑to‑end, influence operations daily, and be the final decision‑maker when it comes to protecting consumers, customers, and the business. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that all food safety and quality management systems meet or exceed regulatory, customer, and company standards. You will oversee the implementation, auditing, assessment, and training of quality systems at our Customer Service Center (CSC), ensuring we deliver only the finest, safest products to our airline customers. Paid Time Off – Vacation, Sick Leave, and Holiday Pay Exclusive Perks – Membership to American Airlines Credit Union What You’ll Lead & Deliver Food Safety & Compliance Develop, implement, and maintain Food Safety Preventive Controls Programs (Policies, SOPs, HACCP Plans, Traceability & Recall Processes, Allergen Programs, and Associated Records). Ensure compliance with FDA FSMA, USDA, HACCP, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and airline customer food safety requirements. Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and microbiological testing to ensure the highest quality standards. Provide technical expertise on food safety, regulatory compliance, and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP). Oversee pest control programs and sanitation verification to maintain an optimal working environment. Quality Systems & Verification Oversee environmental monitoring and microbiological testing programs Review and trend: Swab results Finished product testing Sanitation verification data Conduct routine and spot checks on the production floor Participate in company-wide initiatives such as Global Quality Standards (GQS), Lean Manufacturing, and Employee Safety programs. Leadership & Culture Building Lead, coach, and develop a food safety and quality team Train operations leaders and frontline employees on food safety expectations Influence cross‑functional partners while never compromising food safety Be the site expert and trusted authority on food safety matters Who We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field. Certified Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) and HACCP certification required. 5+ years of experience in food safety roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity. Strong understanding of food microbiology, food chemistry, safety regulations, and quality assurance processes. Demonstrated knowledge of FDA, USDA, FSMA, HACCP, and cGMP regulations. Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to collaborate across departments and with external regulatory bodies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cloud-based quality management systems.
