We need someone who takes that seriously and who wants to be on the shop floor doing the work, not behind a desk pushing paper. If this is you, keep reading!! WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO You're the quality and safety eyes of our shop. Most days, you'll be on the floor with calipers and tablet in your hand and a pump in front of you. Day to day: Tear down pumps and inspect every parts, bearings, shafts, impellers, casings, sleeves, seals including all critical area of dimensions. Measure parts as they come in from vendors. Verify every dimension against the drawing and tolerance before that part transfer to next process, machining and assembly. When a part fails inspection, write the NCR, log it, save the file in SharePoint, and walk it straight to Ops Manager and Planner immediately. No waiting on email. Keep the inspection log clean so every job has a complete traceability trail. Keep our safety documents current and our safety logs up to date. Coordinate third-party audits. The customer source inspections, OEM audits, ISN, etc. Roughly one per month, sometimes more. You're the host. Lead the initiatives to bring us to the next level quality and safety strategy. This is not a clipboard-and-coffee role. This is a measure-it-yourself, find-the-defect, save-the-customer-from-a-bad-pump role. WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR No MBA nor Master Degree will be considered. 3+ years in a machine shop, pump repair shop, or similar precision-mechanical environment. Associate degree (technical, mechanical, or related) OR equivalent shop experience. You can read a drawing, tolerances, surface finishes, the works etc. You know your way around calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and dial indicators. You've seen pump components before, impellers, shafts, sleeves, mech seals, bearings even if signing the inspection report has not been your job yet. You write down what you see. If it's not documented, it didn't happen. You speak up when something's wrong, even when it's the senior guy's work that's wrong. BONUS POINTS (WE'LL TRAIN YOU ON THE REST) Hands-on time with a FARO Arm. Familiarity with API 610 or API 611 standards. OSHA 30, AWS CWI (or Associate CWI), or any ASNT NDT Level II, any one of these. Pump OEM exposure: Peerless, SNM including any pump manufacturers particularly Vertical Turbine Pump. ISO 9001 audit experience (internal or supporting external). WHAT YOU'LL GET $65,000 – $80,000 base, depending on experience and certs you bring in the door. Quality is the foundation of that growth and the QC function will grow with us. If you do this job well: Year 1–2: Own the inspection process. Build the QC system that scales with us. Year 2–3: Lead Inspector: Train the next QC hire we bring in behind you. Get your CWI on us. Year 3–5: QA / QC Manager or EHS Manager. We're not hiring you to plug a hole.
