Job Description
Job Title:Quality Control Inspector Business Unit:Quality Reports To (Title):Quality Team Leader Generic FLSA:Non-Exempt Grade:E02 Major Purpose To support the normal Quality Control activities which include conducting visual and dimensional quality inspection of parts per written, graphic, and verbal instructions.Record inspection results in provided computer software.Support quality and inspection fundamentals necessary to maintain the integrity of the work cell environment.Minimum Job Requirements High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required; prior experience preferred.Ability to use a computer with appropriate software to inspect parts.Ability to read and comprehend inspection instructions.Ability to perform basic math calculations (including simple formulas) Knowledge of reading blueprints and the proper use of inspection instruments Ability to understand the use of necessary inspection equipment and gaging.Ability to support the production cell in the use of this gaging and inspection equipment Detail oriented.Bi-lingual English Spanish Ability to work various shifts and overtime as required.Perform any other quality requirements when applicable.Wear proper PPE as required Essential Functions Collect parts from assigned machines for 1st Off Inspection Performs visual inspection and prepare repair tickets as necessary.Following the quality control plan conduct Q.C.Inspections and record dimensional results in the defined database Read, interpret drawings, and maintain necessary quality files.Communicate to Supervisors and Set-up Personnel major concerns found in 1st Off inspections or in-process audits.Place 1st Off inspection parts and signed tags in the correct collector or machine location.Verify the correctness of production labels, collector location, required material, regrind % to W/O and Set-up requirements.Conduct rotating audits of assigned machines, supporting operator inspection methodology and technique and verifying inspection criteria and results in the work cell Complies with IATF16949 requirements Follows all Occupational Safety and Health Policies and Procedures.Reports any safety deficiency to immediate supervisor Follows Human Resources Policies and Procedures Understands and complies with all Departmental Quality Policies and Procedures #INDSW.
