Job Title:Quality Control Technician & E-Commerce Assistant (Collectibles) Compensation:Dual-Pay Structure (Piece-Rate Hourly) with Performance Raises Job Type:Part-Time / Post-Auction Batches & Show Prep About the Role:We are a high-volume e-commerce business specializing in graded collectible cards (slabs).We are not looking for a standard warehouse packer. We are hiring a Quality Control Technician who can also assist with general shop operations and trade show preparation.Our customers expect flawless, scratch-free cases when they open their packages.Your primary job will be using a mechanical rotary buffer to meticulously polish plastic cases, sleeving them, and securely packing them for shipment.When you aren't packing, you will help us stay organized, maintain the workspace, and prep inventory for major card shows.How You Get Paid (The Dual Structure & Performance Graduation):To ensure we build a reliable, quality-focused team, this position features a 3-month training and probationary structure with a clear path to top-tier pay.Phase 1:Training & Probation (Months 1-3) The Packing Rate (Piece-Rate):You are paid $0.50 for every unit perfectly polished and packed.The Operations Rate (Hourly):For all non-packing tasks (cleaning, inventory organization, show prep), you will be paid a flat hourly rate of $12.00/hour.Phase 2:Graduation & Top-Tier Pay Once you establish a 3-month rolling average of perfect attendance (showing up for all scheduled shifts) and receive no more than 2 total slab quality complaints, you immediately graduate to our top pay tier:The Packing Rate (Piece-Rate):$1.00 for every unit perfectly polished and packed.Fast, efficient workers who master the mechanical polisher easily pack 20 to 30units an hour at this tier, making the effective pay for this task $20.00 to $30.00per hour.The Operations Rate (Hourly):$15.00/hour for all non-packing tasks.Core Responsibilities (Piece-Rate):Visually inspect graded card cases for scuffs and scratches.Operate a mechanical polisher/buffer to restore the plastic to a mirror finish without burning the case.Pack the items securely in boxes or bubble mailers.Sign Your Work:You will include a signed slip in every box that says:Carefully polished and packed by Your Name . You take direct ownership of the quality that reaches the buyer.General Shop & Prep Responsibilities (Hourly):Inventory Management:Sort, file, and pull graded slabs from our vault systems accurately.Show Prep:Assist in staging inventory, packing display cases, and loading supplies for weekend trade shows.Workspace Maintenance:Keep the mechanical polishing station clean, manage polishing compound/pad inventory, break down cardboard, and keep the shipping area highly organized.Our Quality Standard:We operate on a strict quality standard.If a customer receives a dirty/scuffed case or a damaged item due to poor packaging, it is a strike.Three strikes in a 30-day rolling window is grounds for immediate termination.Negligence that results in a refunded order will result in a clawback of the piece-rate pay for that specific order.How to Apply:To prove you have the attention to detail required for handling high-value collectibles, please start your message or cover letter to us with the exact phrase:Slab Prep Ready.Applications missing this exact phrase will be immediately deleted.Please also briefly describe any relevant detailing, quality-control, or inventory management experience you have.Pay:$12.00 - $30.00 per hour Work Location:In person.
