Job Description
Eaton’s AER FMC Fuel Motion Control Systems division is currently seeking a Quality Engineer - Manufacturing Processes. The Euclid facility has approximately 300 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of aerospace main engine fuel pumps and components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets. The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. What You’ll Do The Manufacturing Quality Engineer is responsible for providing quality support as part of the High Performance Work Team. The team is responsible for the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of internally manufactured products. As part of supporting the team, the quality engineer will be responsible for helping to determine root cause and implementing corrective action for scrap, rework, and Defective Parts per Million (DPPM) increases. The quality engineer will review and disposition nonconforming material, provide support to operators / inspectors, and drive continuous improvement in the manufacturing cell. In This Role, You Will Disposition, review, and investigate nonconforming material generated in the manufacturing cell. Perform and implement corrective and preventative actions to reduce scrap, rework, and DPPM. Improve First Pass Yield (FPY) of manufactured products by implementing process changes. Work cross functionally with the members of the HPWT, product engineering, and customer quality to maintain business measurables. Review Engineering drawings and changes to ensure the changes are compliant with customer requirements and are properly implemented into manufacturing work instructions. Use a variety of problem-solving tools to respond to internal or external customer corrective action requests including full root cause analysis, determining / implementing permanent corrective actions, and validating the results. Facilitate and drive Product Part Approval Process (PPAP) for existing and new products. Ensure all internal and external customer quality requirements are met by performing audits of the Certified Operator Program, Layered Process Audits (LPA) and perform internal audits for the site. Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to improve manufacturing processes to reduce Cost Of Non Conformance (CONC). Provide quality training to new hires and cell transfers as part of the Certified Operator Program. Support First Article Inspections (FAI's) in the manufacturing cells Own the Statistical Process Control (SPC) program for the cell to drive improvement in manufacturing based on SPC data. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution Three (3)+ years of experience in a Manufacturing, Quality, Industrial or Aerospace Engineering role in a Manufacturing environment 1+ year of experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and within the future. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within a 50-mile radius of the Euclid, OH facility will be considered. (Active duty military service members are exempt) Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering preferred Five (5) years of experience in a quality position in a precision manufacturing environment. Working Knowledge of drawings and specifications interpretation. Working knowledge in functional measuring equipment usage. Working knowledge in aerospace quality processes inclu
