Job Description
Quality Engineer Work Specifications – Responsibilities: The Quality Improvement Engineer supports plant operation by contributing towards improving safety, quality and operational performance through continuous improvement techniques. Leader for team(s) through the application of structured problem solving techniques and Root Cause/Corrective Action activities. Ownership of CAPA program. Ability for the application of Data Collection, Lean & Six Sigma tools to include 5S, process mapping, Value steam mapping, Pareto Analysis, Fishbone diagrams and 5 Why as required to achieve targets in Safety, Quality and Operational Efficiency. Leads process validations in support of quality in collaboration with OEM’s, on-staff technical resources and process authority Project management of various quality and customer initiatives with structured task-based execution. Develops commissioning plan; documentation needs, & project success criteria. Writes technical reports for to support quality initiatives/white papers based on compiled data Interpretation of regulations and internal compliance against those standards Leads continuous improvement of operational based quality challenges: identification, collaboration, solution implementation; and structured follow-up. Support for the development, implementation of standardized data collection method(s) to be utilized to support the company key performance indicators. Review, create and train on automation and data collection for automation of operating task Ability to complete projects assigned. Education/Prerequisite Requirements: BS Degree (Engineering; Process, or Industrial, Food Science) Leads continuous improvement of operational based quality challenges: identification, collaboration, solution implementation; and structured follow-up. 5 years or more in the Liquid Food Industry and/or Continuous Improvement Process Project Management Skills/Experience Food Regulations, Process Validation, Thermal Processing knowledge preferred Equipment/Training Knowledge: Proficient computer skills include MS / Office, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project and Visio. Able to develop & utilize statistical tools and concepts to identify variation & defects in a process.
