Job Description Title: Quality Supervisor Location: Westfall Technik Riverside Manager : Ricardo Garcia Reports To: Quality Manager Payrate $71k-$75k annum D.O.E Mon - Friday 7:00am -4:00pm ** Summary Of Role Directs quality inspection activities for Westfall Technik Riverside by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate personnel. Responsibilities DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned) Directly supervises inspectors and auditors in the Quality Department in accordance with Westfall Technick’s policies and applicable laws. Maintains, and enforces operational procedures and guidelines for the Quality Dept. to ensure that all quality requirements are met. Communicates with department heads to ensure coordination of quality activities with other functions such as: Production, Sales, Document Control, Purchasing, and Shipping Contribution to achieving AMA goals By ensuring the Inspectors and Auditors are inspecting products according to the Quality requirements and keeping track of costs, the Quality Supervisor ensures that product that meets customer’s expectations are produced as efficiently as possible and thus helps to achieve the goals of Westfall Technick Riverside. Internal Communication Read and interpret documents such as procedures, specifications, instructions, safety rules, and reports. Write and understand basic reports relating to this department. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of Westfall Technick Riverside. External Communication Communicating Communicates with outside customers and suppliers on quality related issues. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises Quality Inspectors and Auditors in the Quality department Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Westfall Technick Riverside’s’ policies and applicable laws Effectively manage labor usage within the QA Department to ensure Westfall Technick Riverside’ goals and policies are met Planning, assigning and directing work Interviewing, hiring and training employees Appraising performance and rewarding employees Disciplining employees Addressing complaints and resolving problems Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements And Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE BS degree in a technical discipline and one to two years’ experience in a supervisory role, (other combinations of education plus experience may be substituted) Minimum 2 years’ experience in the plastic injection molding industry holding a position in Quality Control Ability to perform mathematical calculations using algebraic functions Thorough knowledge of injection molding terminology Thorough knowledge with use of quality measuring tools Knowledge in SPC. techniques to include control charts and variability charts Language Skills Bilingual is a plus Technical Skills Computer literate (word processing, spread sheets, SPC programs, etc.) REASONING ABILITY Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks Ability to identify and effectively resolve complex problems Ability to understand and conceptualize scenarios based on incomplete information CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS N/A PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
