UF Health is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Cardiovascular Tech to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department in Gainesville, Florida. As part of a leading academic health center, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality cardiovascular care by performing a variety of diagnostic and interventional support procedures for patients with known or suspected heart and vascular conditions. Working closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other members of a multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure accurate testing, timely results, and an excellent patient experience in a fast-paced clinical environment. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing patients for cardiovascular procedures, explaining tests and answering questions to reduce anxiety, and ensuring safe and proper positioning throughout each exam. You will operate and troubleshoot specialized cardiovascular equipment—such as EKG machines, ultrasound systems, stress testing equipment, and related monitoring devices—to obtain high-quality images and tracings according to established protocols. You will carefully follow physician orders and departmental guidelines, recognize and promptly report abnormal findings, and assist with urgent or emergent situations when needed. The Cardiovascular Tech will accurately document procedures, measurements, and observations in the electronic health record, contributing to timely clinical decision-making and continuity of care. You will adhere to strict infection control, patient safety, and radiation safety practices and support quality improvement initiatives within the cardiovascular service line.
