Queer/Trans-Affirming Companion & Community Support Role Adventure buddy, emotional support partner, task teammate - Silver Lake / West Hollywood Area Part-Time | Approximately 10–12 hours/week $30–$40/hour depending on experience and fit We are looking for a grounded, emotionally intelligent, queer-affirming companion to support a warm, artistic young adult in her 20s as she builds confidence, community, routine, and independence in Los Angeles. This is not a traditional caregiving role. The right person for this position is someone who naturally creates safety, calm, fun, and connection. Someone who can be present without pressure. Someone comfortable moving between low-key days at home and social outings in queer spaces. The role is part companion, part emotional anchor, part "Let's see where the day takes us " Some days might look like: grabbing tea, shopping, hiking running errands together body doubling while doing laundry or organizing going to a queer art event, drag show, cosplay meetup, dance class, or café painting, gaming, watching reality TV, or reading in the park helping build routines, confidence, and comfort navigating the city encouraging gentle movement, outdoor time, creativity, and community connection Helping a genuinely kind, empathetic soul, feel more supported, regulated, socially connected, and confident in everyday life. This role also supports the primary caregiver by helping create consistency, companionship, and emotional breathing room. Responsibilities Provide grounded, affirming companionship and emotional presence Support gentle structure and realistic day-to-day goals Encourage creativity, independence, and community engagement Attend queer-friendly social events or activities together Assist with errands, appointments, scheduling, and everyday tasks Help with light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, meal prep, or organization Offer calm support during moments of anxiety or overwhelm Encourage movement, outdoor time, and balanced routines Help create a sense of safety and belonging in social settings Ideal Fit Comfortable and genuinely at home in queer and trans spaces, including both masc and femme communities Calm, emotionally aware, adaptable, and easy to be around Good at reading the room and matching energy appropriately Creative, playful, and grounded Familiarity with anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence, or emotional regulation support is a plus Experience in caregiving, peer support, mental health, education, or community work is welcome but not required Interests & Vibes Reality TV, anime, cosplay, gaming, art, fashion, queer culture, dancing, drag shows, music, drawing, nature walks, cozy cafés, creative spaces, and finding joy in small everyday moments. Schedule Flexible part-time schedule spread across 3–5 days per week. Some evenings and weekends are important for social outings, events, or community activities.
