Job Description
Position: Racquet Club Concierge Hitters Reports to: Head Pro and Pro Shop Manager Department: Racquet Club FLSA: Non-Exempt Job Summary: Updated: 2026 ________________________________________ Help facilitate the growth of the program on Fisher Island Club primarily through participating in the programs and engaging members and guests in tennis, pickleball and padel activities. ________________________________________ Primary Responsibilities Personal professional appearance is a must. Wear name tags and uniform with club logo at work. Respect the schedule of work. Schedule working time changes only with authorization by supervisor on duty. Participate in games and events (Tennis, Padel and Pickleball) as requested by the supervisor or director. Ensure the playing area is clean before and after each game or hitting play. Assist Pro Shop staff on daily duties. Assist the department when needed on weekly programs (Clinics, Lessons, and events) Concierge Hitter is not allowed to pre-book lessons and teaching during working hours. Lessons or clinics would be provided on a needed basis by the Director. Assist the racquet club maintenance staff when needed due to absence of maintenance staff, inclement weather, events and unforeseen circumstances. Daily Responsibilities Play in member/guest’s game as needed and when available, or when requested by the manager on duty. Assist on kids, adults’ clinics and pro’s lessons when requested by director. All game items (i.e. balls, hoppers, drinks, towels etc.) are properly stored after each game or hitting play. Assist Pro Shop staff on the following duties: Fold and store towels in the shop and locker room. Take and pick up towels from the laundry room. Wash and Dry towels, as necessary. Assist pro shop staff on maintaining courtyard area organized and as clean as necessary (Tables, chairs, coke, and ice machine). Assist on preparing and take towel, ice water, Gatorade pitchers, bananas, and cups to game courts. Walk through the courts when available to check on court usage and members. Drive the golf cart to go assist on picking up packages at the receiving building. Contacting members through phone calls, messages and emails regarding future events registrations and game arrangements. Assist pro shop on sales, phone calls and member services. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED is required Minimum of two to three years’ experience as a concierge, hitter or assistant pro staff in a private club, municipal facility, or commercial club. Played at high level junior tennis with minimum USTA rating of 4.5 or college level. Working Conditions: Ability to work odd hours, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work under pressure and handle stress. Wear provided uniform or similar with club logo and name tags at all time. Physical demands and abilities: Work is performed outdoor and requires extended periods of walking/standing and physical activity. Sun exposure and outdoor temperatures and humidity associated with South Florida weather. Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands/arms and talk or hear. Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 50 lbs. Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
