Job Description
JOB The Program Director (PD) provides administrative leadership and academic oversight for the designated program. Reporting to the Department Chair, the PD ensures that departmental objectives and accreditation standards are met through collaborative management. The Program Director has primary responsibility and authority for the organization, administration, continuous review, planning and development of the program in accordance with the accreditation standards. Responsible for assuring effective program operations and assuming the leadership role in the continued development of the program, while balancing administrative duties with didactic and/or clinical instruction as appropriate. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Program Leadership and Accreditation•Oversee ongoing program accreditation and ensure compliance with all program-specific JRCERT standards and analysis requirements.•Maintain primary responsibility for program outcomes, including credentialing exam pass rates, job placement rates, program completion rates, and implement continuous improvement strategies based on these outcomes.•Assure effective program operations, including the coordination of clinical sites, clinical faculty, clinical education experiences, alignment of clinical and didactic instructions, and learning outcomes for cooperative education.•Provide academic oversight of clinical education to ensure student competency development and compliance with accreditation standards.•Engage in substantive curriculum development informed by recurring changes in the field of accreditation requirements.•Maintain and develop Articulation Agreements with counterpart institutions.•Identify appropriate membership and facilitate regular meetings for Program Advisory Committee (PAC). Ensure advisory input is documented and incorporated into program evaluation and improvement processes.•Evaluate program faculty and clinical instructors for purposes of academic quality, accreditation compliance, and program improvement.Instruction and Student Success•Participate in didactic and/or clinical instruction as appropriate to program demands.•Select appropriate textbooks and resources for program courses.•Advise program students and provide training to other faculty regarding program-specific advising needs.•Approve student requests for course substitutions and collaborate on student recruitment and retention efforts.Administrative and Fiscal Management•Participate in budget planning and assist in managing specific program budget line items in collaboration with the Department Chair.•Oversee the implementation of on-going program assessment processes, including survey design, data collection, and action plan implementation.•Identify, screen, and recommend part-time faculty/instructors; support the onboarding of new adjunct and full-time program faculty.•Coordinate and provide academic oversight of adjunct and clinical faculty to ensure alignment with program standards.•Ensure equipment needs are forecasted in the budget and oversee the purchasing process in collaboration with appropriate administrative offices.•Participate in grant development and support execution of funded projects as appropriate to the program.
