Radon Mitigation installer Adios Radon is seeking to add another member to our small business family to be trained to perform radon mitigations. This position requires willingness for daily travel to job sites throughout our service area, which ranges roughly from Des Moines to Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. Our primary location is in Tiffin, and travel to eastern Iowa will be needed during training. We're now busy enough in central Iowa that we want to establish a mitigation crew based out of Des Moines. Training will take a few months for most candidates. Training pay will range from roughly $18-25 per hour depending on experience. In addition to mastering the hands-on skills required, completing coursework for radon measurement and radon mitigation and passing a proficiency exam to become credentialed IS MANDATORY to be able to progress past the training phase. All necessary memberships, education, certifications and licenses are covered. Company truck, tools, tech, phone, & fuel card are provided after training is successfully completed. After training, a successful candidate will earn $65,000+ in their first year, w/ the very real opportunity to earn over $100,000 a year. Compensation is performance based (%, not hourly, after training). We do not currently offer a benefits package. All major holidays are paid time off. We do offer the freedom to block days off at any time you choose as long as you're not already scheduled to work (we typically do not schedule out much more than about a week in advance). Duties and Responsibilities: Arrive on time and exercise courtesy and professionalism toward the home’s occupant (which may include animals) Perform installation of radon mitigation systems in compliance with EPA standards Accept and process payments, and have clients sign agreements You’ll attend very few company meetings. Our team is in constant communication with one another as needed. Requirements & Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required 2+ years of full time construction experience (in any residential trade) is REQUIRED. Physical requirements include the ability to climb ladders and walk roofs, enter confined spaces (attics, crawlspaces, etc.) in extreme temperatures, and lift/carry ladders and other items weighing 70+ pounds. Extreme attention to detail while also maintaining awareness of the sum of those details Highly organized multitasker who works well independently in a fast-paced environment Hold a valid driver’s license & clean driving record Ability to drive a pickup and pull/back trailers Proficiency using hand tools & power tools. Some daily tasks on this job will include: Coring through walls (which will include concrete or stone) and/or roof sheathing Cutting, fitting, hanging and gluing up PVC pipe in a professional manner Making electrical connections to connect radon fan to power source Ability to pass a background check through the relevant realtor associations (to obtain Sentrilock lockbox access to homes that are for sale) Ability to complete Iowa HHS approved coursework for radon measurement and radon mitigation and pass a proficiency exam to become credentialed Flexibility is required as your schedule may change unexpectedly due to the demands of our customer base.
