ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position. • Must be willing to work with minimum supervision and have the ability to perform the assignments given to him/her by the Communications Leader or Supervisor. • Must also fully understand the basic principles, methods and procedures applicable to the maintenance and repair of: two-way radio, CCTV, Computerized Telephone Switching System, Public-Address Equipment, T-Carrier, Fire and Intrusion Alarm, Real Time Computer Control and Monitoring Systems, Cable TV Systems, Power Supplies and Batteries and Cable Plant systems. • Must be able to understand and be proficient in the use of complex test equipment, including but not limited to Oscilloscopes, Digital Multi-Meters, Frequency Meters, and Deviation Meters, Digital Probes, Semiconductor and logic test devices. • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: Must be able to demonstrate a high level of skill in reading cable diagrams, wiring diagrams, logic circuits, and schematics.
