Overview Respect My Region is offering an educational internship designed to help aspiring writers, journalists, and digital storytellers gain real-world experience in music media and online publishing. This internship runs 90–180 days and includes the opportunity for a letter of recommendation from the CEO upon completion, with potential for paid contract work based on performance. About Respect My Region Founded in 2011 at Central Washington University, Respect My Region (RMR) has grown into a multi-platform media brand reaching millions of cannabis consumers, music lovers, and creatives worldwide. RMR’s mission is to showcase “local” culture to a global audience through authentic journalism, educational media, and viral digital content. Internship Focus The internship provides hands-on experience in music journalism and digital content creation , including researching stories, writing articles, editing videos, and repurposing written content for social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Facebook Reels, and X (formerly Twitter). Internship Duties May Include: Researching and writing music-related articles for the Respect My Region website. Curating authentic, timely content for RMR’s social media platforms. Assisting with editing and publishing short-form video content for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and X. Adapting written content into social media-friendly posts and video clips. Assisting with article promotion and community engagement across platforms. Time Commitment: Approximately 3 hours per day, 5 days per week (flexible schedule). Duration: 90–180 days depending on mutual agreement. Compensation: This is an unpaid educational internship designed to provide professional training and portfolio-building experience. Interns may be eligible for a 10% commission on verified sales revenue they directly assist in generating. Upon completion, interns may receive a letter of recommendation and may be considered for future paid freelance or contract work .
