Job Description
Job Title: R&D Lab Technician Job Description The Lab Technician conducts chemical, physical, and microbiological testing of pharmaceutical raw materials, packaging components, finished products, and stability samples using internally developed and compendial test methods. This role supports product quality by implementing validated analytical methods, accurately documenting test results, maintaining laboratory instrumentation, and working in strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and safety guidelines. Responsibilities Perform chemical and physical testing of pharmaceutical raw materials, packaging components, finished products, microbiological samples, and stability samples using internally developed and compendial test methods. Implement validated test methods for pharmaceutical raw materials and finished products to assess strength, impurities, and identity. Conduct spectroscopy and traditional quantitative analysis, including traditional wet chemical testing, in accordance with established procedures. Recognize and report out-of-specification or unexpected results and non-routine analytical or product problems, and recommend appropriate solutions. Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation as needed to ensure reliable performance and data integrity. Clearly and accurately communicate testing results by thoroughly documenting methods, observations, and acquired data. Record and report analytical results in accordance with prescribed laboratory procedures, systems, and documentation requirements. Provide effective communication and collaboration with outside departments to support testing needs and resolve issues. Clean and organize the work area, analytical instrumentation, and testing materials to maintain a safe and efficient laboratory environment. Perform all duties in strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and applicable safety guidelines. Maintain the necessary compliance status required by company and facility standards, including adherence to quality and regulatory expectations. Essential Skills Ability to perform chemical and physical testing of pharmaceutical materials using established test methods. Knowledge of spectroscopy techniques and traditional quantitative analysis, including wet chemical testing. Ability to recognize and appropriately respond to out-of-specification or unexpected results and analytical issues. Skill in maintaining and troubleshooting analytical laboratory instrumentation. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documenting test procedures, observations, and results. Ability to record and report analytical data in accordance with prescribed laboratory procedures and systems. Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact with laboratory personnel and outside departments. Proficiency with common office software applications. Experience or familiarity with chromatographic data acquisition systems. Ability to work in strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and safety guidelines. Bachelor's degree in a Science discipline required, preferably in Chemistry or Biology. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Science, with a preference for a degree in Chemistry or Biology. No prior professional experience required; suitable for recent graduates or individuals entering the pharmaceutical laboratory field. Interest in pharmaceutical quality control, quality assurance, and laboratory operations. Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused laboratory work area. Willingness to learn and follow detailed procedures, regulatory requirements, and documentation standards. Work Environment This role is based in a laboratory setting and operates on a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The position involves working with analytical instrumentation, chromatographic data acquisition systems, and standard laboratory equipment while handling pharmaceutical raw materials, packaging components, finished products, microbiological samples, and stability samples. The work environment emphasizes strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and safety guidelines. Laboratory attire and appropriate personal protective equipment are required to ensure a safe and compliant work setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contr
