Recycling Sorter

Our client in Cedar Rapids is looking for a 1st Shift Recycling Line Sorter! Job Summary:The Line Sorter will be responsible for efficiently and safely processing incoming recyclable materials to ensure outbound commodities are ready for sale to brokers or mills.General Duties:Sort and separate recyclable materials (e.g., aluminum, plastic, glass, paper) from incoming waste.Deposit recoverable materials into the appropriate chute in a safe and efficient manner.Assist fellow sorters with heavy or bulky items as needed.Follow all safety protocols, including stopping the conveyor belt in emergency situations.Inspect incoming loads for unacceptable waste and remove any items that do not meet standards.Communicate with equipment operators about special waste or loads that require extra attention.Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.Requirements:Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments.Ability to work in hot and cold conditions.Ability to work on fast paced conveyor line.Hours:Monday - Friday:6:00 am - 4:30 pm Occasional Saturday:6:00 am - 2:30 pm Pay:$14.00/hour Pay increases to $16.00/hour once hired on!
