Referral Clerk

Job Summary:The Referral Clerk will report to the Referrals Lead and Call Center Manager and perform their duties and the necessary functions required in accordance with established policies and procedures as a Referral Clerk.Job Duties:This position is responsible for collecting assessing and reporting referral data for assigned provider Ensures patients are referred in a timely manner Communicate to Provider when a STAT and/or Urgent referral occurs and you are unable to refer patient in a timely manner.Referral Binders have been designated in the following areas:Walk In Clinic Suite 2, Pediatrics Suite 3, Suite 8 and Suite 10.Understands that the Referral Log Binders are a primary mechanism for tracking all referrals.Responsible for communicating any referrals identified as not being in the Referral Log Binder to the attention of the supervisor (Daily).Referral Clerk on a DAILY basis will review ALL referrals documented in referral binder.Under the direction of the clinic manager, takes responsibility of Daily Reports Ensure timely completion of all referrals.Work closely with the Medical Receptionist and Medical Assistant staff to ensure proper referral processes are followed.Referral clerk will retrieve chart to ensure referral is processed.Referral clerk will document all necessary documentation in chart.Date and Time This includes but not limited to:Health plan interaction (Name of Person) Specialist Name Date of referral Time of referral Patient interaction Notification to Patient of referral Provide feedback with any referral departmental issues to improve the department work flow.Work independently with direction from the Clinical Manager, CFO, and/or Administration Other duties as assigned Job Requirements:Ability to work under pressure.Ability and willingness to treat all patients with the utmost kindness and consideration in the most trying situations.Friendly personality with the desire to work with the public.Friendly personality with a positive outlook with all referring providers and the community.Ability to handle multi-functions.Promotes and believes in SFMC Ability to relate to the public regardless of ethnic, religious and economic status.Bilingual in English/Spanish is required.Must be willing to work and be agreeable to work weekends, if so needed.Benefits offered:Paid time off Health insurance Dental insurance Retirement benefits or accounts Job Type:Full-time Pay:$17.25 - $20.00 per hour Experience:health referrals and pre-authorizations:1 year (Preferred) outpatient healthcare:1 year (Preferred) Language:fluent spanish (Required) Ability to Commute:Porterville, CA (Required) Work Location:In person.
