Job Description
Job Overview The Dental Assistant will assist the Dentist in providing quality dental care of adult and pediatric patients in their general dentistry practice and to assist as a Dental Receptionist if needed to join our team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR DENTAL ASSISTANT (included but not limited to the following). Assists the Dentist with any dental procedures and ensures appropriate supplies and equipment are available to perform care. Greeting patients, escorting them to and from treatment rooms Responsible to set up and prepare dental treatment rooms. Process and sterilize dental instruments between patient visits. Make patients feel comfortable in dental chair and perform all side chair checks. Ensures appropriate forms for documentation are included in dental records, and maintains confidentiality, security, filing and physical safety of dental records. Charting Order and take inventory of dental supplies, maintaining logs for all supplies Promptly send out and monitor all dental laboratory cases Keep dental units stocked and clean at all times Autoclaves dental instruments and disinfects examination area as required by OSHA. Prepares materials for and restorations, expose radiographs and process dental x-ray films as directed by a dentist. Mix dental materials Schedule and confirm appointments, comfortable answering telephone. Triaging dental emergencies. Comfortable with seeing children. Maintaining OSHA and HIPAA regulations Collaborate with the dental team in delivering top-tier clinical care, supporting both doctors and hygienists during procedures. Help maintain cleanliness of the dental office Following up with patients after treatments Requirements Must have good typing and computer skills. Must have excellent interpersonal/oral communication skills Must carry a professional demeanor at all times. Must have at least 1 year experience. Current CPR Certification required. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. X-Ray Proficiency EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Certificate of Dental Assistant from an accredited education institution, preferred. Coronal Polish/Sealant Certification preferred but not required.
