Oakland Eco Dental is excited to announce we are currently hiring for a Registered Dental Assistant ! The RDA works on behalf of the patient and the dentist, helping to assure a high level of professional excellence in oral health care delivery. Summary of Essential Job Functions: · Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment. · Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and tray setups for dental procedures. · Greet and prepare patients for treatment. · Experience with helping place the rubber dam. · Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures, assist with temporary crowns, impressions, etc. · Conduct work in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety and OSHA guidelines. · Record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patient. · Record treatment information in patient records. · Participate in the achievement of patient satisfaction and office production goals by working efficiently and providing a high level of patient service. · Assist with other duties as directed in the attached Permitted Duties. · Provide patient education materials. · Maintain an appropriate office environment, ordering supplies, organizing, helping with all functions as allowed by the dental board for an RDA. Minimum Requirements: · Current CPR certification. · Radiation Safety Certificate (X-ray license) · Infection Control Certificate (within 120 days of employment) · Good communication skills. · Ability to perform detailed work according to established formats and protocols. Job Type: Full-time Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Current CA Dental Assistant license Current CPR and First Aid Certification (preferred) Prior experience in Dental assisting preferred Prior experience with dental instruments preferred Experience using dental instruments preferred Capability to take and develop digital radiographs, x-rays, and computerized digital x-rays Ability to help patients feel at peace while having treatments, during dental procedures, and at check-in/check-out Ability to help patients feel at peace while having treatments, during dental procedures, and at check-in/out Customer service is important; customers are important to us. Duties include: Being friendly, helpful, dependable, and organized. Assisting the dentist and office staff. Taking and developing digital radiographs, x-rays, and computerized x-rays. Assisting the dentist by providing oral hygiene instructions; assisting in preparing the operatory for each treatment; ensuring that all necessary instruments are available for each patient's treatment; assisting the dentist in maintaining patient confidentiality. Educating patients about their oral health needs and providing them with information about products and services. Cleaning after each treatment; maintaining equipment.
