Job Summary New Graduates Welcome This is a family owned , non-corporate practice since 1982. Father-Son practice. We are located on the Hanover/New Kent Border. Our Dentists do all the artwork and landscape on the grounds. We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Hygienist to join our outgoing and laid back dental team! This is a Tuesday-Friday position, hours 8am-5pm. In this role, you will provide exceptional patient care by performing comprehensive dental cleanings, assessments, and education to promote optimal oral health. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and confident in their dental experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your clinical skills while contributing to the overall well-being of our diverse patient community. Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and dental examinations to identify oral health issues. Take dental images, i.e. Dental X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records and treatment plans. Follow infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and HIPAA regulations to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials. Proven experience in general dentistry with a strong background in dental terminology. Familiarity with dental office software, we use Dentrix. Knowledge of anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a sterile environment. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records confidentiality. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management.
